Commission of Social and Humanitarian Affairs and Solidarity gathers under the chairmanship of Ahmad Azam Abdurrahman

First meeting of the Commission of Social and Humanitarian Affairs and Solidarity was held in the UNIW's headquarters with the participation of the head of the commission Ahmad Azam Abdurrahman on May 23, 2008.

The meeting was held with the participation of the representatives from Turkish members of UNIW such as Akademi Culture 2000 Association, Divan Research and Education Foundation, Ensar Foundation, Association for the Inspection and Certification of Food and Supplies (GIMDES), KASAD-D, Hayrat Foundation, Pusula Education and Research Foundation and Yetimler Foundation.

In the meeting the goals of the commission were discussed. Giving emergency to the activities about the attendance of the Member Foundations to the commission and the activities was decided in the meeting.

Beside this, sub-commissions were explained to member associations and information was gathered about which sub-commissions they can support. It was agreed upon in the meeting that the Member Associations will carry out researches about the sub-commissions' working fields and perform feasibility studies. Ahmad Azam Abdurrahman, the Chairman of the Commission of Social and Humanitarian Affairs and Solidarity, told the representatives of the member associations that a more extensive meeting is planned to be held with the participation of all of the members as soon as possible. The meeting was completed with the sharing of good wishes.
