FGN Supports Iran’s Right To Develop Nuclear Technology PDF Print E-mail
28 September 2007,  Future Global Network (FGN), a network of non-governmental organizations in Malaysia, dedicated to the peaceful co-existence of humanity, fully supports the inherent rights of the Islamic Republic of Iran to develop its own Nuclear Power Plant for peaceful purposes.

With a fairly wide area of territory to provide with electricity, and being financially capable, Iran should be encouraged to own a nuclear power plant. Its current source of energy can in time be exhausted. It would pose a burden to the country to sustain its energy needs in the long run under the existing mode of power generation.

During its existence as an Islamic Republic, Iran has no record of being an aggressor against any nation. But it is committed to defend its sovereignty at all cost from external aggression. Therefore, the notion of fear expressed by interested parties that Iran would pose danger to other nations if allowed to own a nuclear weapon does not hold water. If Israel can be allowed to produce and keep its own nuclear weapons, without anyone raising an eyebrow, there can be no valid reason to deny or deprive Iran and other nations from having the same.

FGN holds the view that as a deterrent to any irresponsible use of nuclear weapons to bully smaller or weaker nations, a level playing field must be opened for all sovereign nations that have the capability to avail of the technology. Otherwise, a perpetual offensive bullying of the weak by the nuclear-armed nations will become rampant as what can be gleaned today.

FGN, therefore, stand by the right of Iran and other nations to have access to and develop their own nuclear power program for peaceful and practical purposes.
